About Le Bistrot Français

The Relais & Châteaux Le Bistrot Français restaurant was born from the owners’ desire to share their experience in the fascinating world of gastronomy and wines with like-minded people, passionate about the Good and the Beautiful.

At Le Bistrot Français (located at 18 Nicolae Golescu Street), the history of Bucharest’s architecture harmoniously intertwines with culinary products, creating a dialogue between past and present. The art displayed enriches the visitor’s senses with a multitude of spectrums. Situated near the Romanian Athenaeum, in an area with historic linden trees, the ground floor of the sumptuous late 19th-century house, the former residence of the architect of the Romanian Athenaeum, which houses the restaurant, acquires a modern air thanks to the masterfully created menus by Chef Patricio Massimino and his team, impeccably harmonized within the Relais & Châteaux experience. Additionally, the collection of paintings and sculptures by Romanian artists displayed inside contributes to this modern atmosphere.

About the Menu Concept

The menu designed by Chef Patricio and the Le Bistrot Français team for the Bentley Bucharest 10th Anniversary event was inspired by a feast of the Royal Court, prepared 100 years ago (1923). The delicacies from the menu discovered in the National Archives of Romania and presented with the kindness of Ms. Ștefania Dinu, historian at the National Cotroceni Museum, have been reimagined and reinterpreted by Chef Patricio around the three fundamental principles of Le Bistrot Français’ kitchen philosophy: the finest quality products from local sources or with French origins, technique - using both established, classical rules of gastronomy and the modern means available today, and, of course, the seasonality of ingredients, ensuring the freshness and authenticity of the menu.
